Church Ope Cove, Weymouth
This beach is formed by a large expanse of limestone pebbles and is backed by cliffs on three sides which shelter bathers from the prevailing winds. Rufus Castle overlooks the beach which is south facing and safe for swimming.

Lowestoft, Suffolk
Lowestoft's fine sandy South Beach is the main resort beach in North Suffolk. A successful events area has been established at Royal Green adjacent to the promenade.

Portreath, CornwallA sand and shingle beach set in a bay backed by cliffs on one side and the pier and car park on the other. A stream runs down the middle of the beach to the sea. The beach is popular with families and surfers.

Prestatyn, DenbighshireA wide north facing sandy beach interspersed with rock groynes. A promenade runs along the beach with ramped access from the car parks. Adjoins Barkby and Ffrith beaches in a 5 mile stretch of sand.

St Bees, CumbriaA mile-long sandy beach with tidal rock pools and rock formations at the foot of St Bees Head. There is a wide promenade and garden and a RSPB reserve nearby.

Whistable, KentA popular seaside town and shingle beach owned by the Whitstable Oyster Company. Good range of local shops, restaurants and a small harbour from which a local shellfishing fleet operates.
